Solid spot, doesn't quite feel like a steakhouse, though the steak is pretty good. We also go the Philly cheesesteak egg rolls (pretty good), warm cabbage salad (alright, much bacon), parm potatoes (solid), along with my NY stream, the half chicken, and the halibut special. I don't think anything was mind blowing but it's a nice spot and the service is good.
I've walked by Town several times and noted how packed it was even on weekdays! So I wanted to try it out! My husband and I went for dinner on a Monday. The service is great. Their menu is quite big but sadly lacks vegetarian options for the main course. It only has 1 pasta in the mains section, so if you dont want pasta, you have to make do with appetizers/sides. Many of the sides are vegetarian, but it's sort of weird to order a couple of appetizers or sides as your dinner when the people you're with are ordering steak or salmon. And a salad as your main course is just not satisfying for a lot of people, including me. I got the vegetable roll (sushi) and a side of roasted garlic mashed potatoes. Both were great, especially the sushi roll, which had delicious sauces and a nice crunch! But the quantity was insufficient for me even though I have a pretty small appetite. So I probably could have ordered another side (if I had known the portion sizes).
This review is overdue. We love this place for variety of food, service, selection of wine! It gets really crowded though so make sure you call for reservation.
I've always wanted to try this upscale restaurant in Downtown San Carlos but just never got to it. That is until last week. A friend and I spontaneously decided to treat ourselves and boy am I sure glad we came here. It's been a while since I've ordered a restaurant steak preferring to buy and grill my own as of late. But with minimal convincing by my friend, I ordered the ribeye with the blue cheese crust. Oh. My. God. The steak itself was thick, juicy and tender. Cooked perfectly medium rare and easily excellent as a standalone. But with the rich blue cheese crust? That was extra special. Can't wait to find an excuse to come back and do it all over again.
Raise your hand if you love a fully loaded baked potato (my hand is raised up high in the air). Aaahhh, but where do you get one nowadays? I have found that this is an increasingly hard to find side dish. While visiting the Bay Area, we were searching for a solid but relaxed meal and TOWN was recommended. Located on laurel street with a trendy bar area, it also features a casual outdoor seating area. Not many restaurants serve prime rib so it was nice to find a place that still serves this medium rare classic. No better accompaniment than a (yes) LOADED BAKED POTATO. Butter, sour cream, smoked bacon, chives, and cheese. Decadent and caloric, but YOLO. Only $6 to have with your steak. For a lighter dish, the salmon was delicious. It is imaginatively served smothered in a green forest of peas, asparagus, and spinach. For the carb lover, try pasta sedani with arugula, tomatoes, and basil. Comes with garlic bread--a rich side! Service was very friendly and efficient. Drinks were solid. Nice place for a summer outdoor meal. I'll go back for sure.
What a delicious takeout experience we had at Town today! We are very fortunate to live close to so many good restaurants and sometimes we take that for granted but I always want to sing the praises of local restaurants! We ordered many things off the menu and every single one was delicious. We had the crab garlic bread, which I think is seasonal, which was amazing! Hamburger and fries that the guys loved. I adored the Super Bowl it was so yummy. The pasta was ok nothing special. The potato croquettes were so good. Little Gem salad was very fresh. I didn't have the shrimp but it looks delicious. The garlic green beans were so good. I would highly recommend this place if you want delicious food!
Town is an awesome San Carlos staple. With a robust menu and ample indoor and outdoor seating...this restaurant has something for everyone. My friends and I shared an array of appetizers and desserts...Town has generous portions so we all definitely left stuffed Standouts were their chicken sliders, crispy rice with ahi tuna and you definitely need to get the 7 layer chocolate cake. We mixed it with a bit of the berry sauce from the butter cake dessert and it made the perfect bite Located in downtown San Carlos made parking super easy and a nice spot to walk around if you come by earlier in the day.
Came back with 2 girlfriends for brunch and the food was super delicious. We shared a few dishes and really enjoyed our time catching up! We were sat at a cozy booth in the back. We shared the cheesy garlic bread, San Carlos joes scramble, millennial breakfast, and balsamic farm eggs. All were super yummy and were pretty filling.
I haven't been to Town for dinner in a while. I had dinner there with a few friends on Monday night and I was shocked at how busy they are! We grabbed a drink at the bar while we waited for our table. Before the bartender could make our drinks, our table is ready! We had BBQ shrimps as appetizer - 5/5. I ordered the poke bowl which is the perfect serving size for me. I love all the veggies and sashimi. I'll ask them to put the sauce on the side next time. I think I will like it even more if the sauce is cut in half. Both of my friends like their entrees. I had a cocktail named Honor Roll - 5/5!! Didn't know I like kiwi in a cocktail. ;)
